An earthquake upheaves everything – the body, the night.
Buildings suddenly overturn, and even your thoughts will stagger.
Everything becomes relative.
We spent four months in Mexico.
Without knowing anything of it but fascinated, we were waiting. And then : two earthquakes
- we passed them by without feeling anything.
The earthquake is not the literal subject of the book – it is rather a key to interpretation which SISMO attempts to parallel. Standards are broken down with each intangible photographic subject. Each page is a jolt, pulling along with it the figures, the landscape.
